The method is based on the Michael addition of N‐Boc‐protected 3‐chlorooxindole to unsaturated 1,4‐dicarbonyl compounds, affording trans‐substituted spirocyclopropane oxindole derivatives in high diastereo‐ and enantioselectivity.
